The 2020 BYD e6: Luup alternative

For a rental car, the 2020 BYD e6 is one of many cars on CarmaCars, each with its own page. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.

Under the hood

It runs the electric motor, with front-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Energy use is rated at 29.0 kWh/100 km, about 87 kWh for 300 km. Rated range: 301 km. Winter and highway speeds bring it down. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $13.05 at our price setting.

Best uses

It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Inside and out

It offers the space of an SUV with the height that makes loading easy. Its 453 litre trunk is enough for a family's bags for a long weekend.

Renting this car

Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.

How booking works

Nothing to pay up front: the first step is simply a request. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. If the offer works for you, approve and pay to confirm. If not, you owe nothing.

Compare cars side by side by opening their pages. A single booking can run up to 365 days. For longer, it renews month after month. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

What to have ready

Every driver needs an Ontario G2 or G licence and must be 18 or older. The young driver fee covers drivers under 26; older drivers pay no age fee. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

Third-party liability is part of every rate, and damage to the car is handled by OPCF 27, a card benefit or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.
