Luup alternative and the 1983 GMC Value Van
Want to know if the 1983 GMC Value Van suits a rental car? Read on. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Engine and fuel
No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.
Best uses
It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.
Inside and out
As a car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight.
Getting this car from us
None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. We hand every car over in person, at your address or at our location.
What to expect when you book
Start with a request. Choose the car, the pickup time and the return time, and send it without paying anything. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. If the offer works for you, approve and pay to confirm. If not, you owe nothing.
Each car's calendar shows the days it is already booked. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.
What to have ready
You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. Bring the card you paid with and your original licence to the handover.
Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.
Questions first?
If something here is unclear, ask in your request; we reply in plain words.

Can I rent a 1983 GMC Value Van in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
