Renting the 2014 Kia Optima
Searching for Luup alternative and the 2014 Kia Optima? Here is what the car is like and how to rent one from us. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Specs, explained
The powertrain to know here is the 2.4L 4-cylinder hybrid, with front-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
By the EPA's combined rating of 6.5 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 20 litres. The fuel for 100 km comes to about $10.08 at our price setting.
Who the Optima suits
It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.
How big it is
A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. The EPA measures its luggage space at 311 litres, roughly about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.
Getting one from us
Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. We deliver around Toronto; pickup at our location is free.
Before you rent
You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. A card in your name pays for the rental, and we see it with your licence at pickup.
Damage to the car is handled one of three ways: OPCF 27 on your policy, a credit card's rental car benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
How a booking comes together
To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. You then get an offer from us with the car, the dates and the total before tax. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.
The car pages show each car's rates, deposit and kilometres included. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.
