Renting: the basics

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. The card you pay with must be yours, and you bring it to the handover.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.

What to expect when you book

Choose the car and your times, then send a request. A request does not hold the car, and it costs nothing. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.
