Luup alternative and the 2008 Mazda MX-5
This page joins two things: Luup alternative, and the 2008 Mazda MX-5 in plain words. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Reading the spec sheet
The 2.0L 4-cylinder with rear-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
Rated at 9.8 L/100 km combined, it needs around 29 litres for a 300 km round trip. The fuel for 100 km comes to about $17.15 at our price setting.
When the MX-5 makes sense
It suits a summer weekend or a special occasion more than a move. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.
The MX-5 in everyday use
As a two-seat sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second.
In our fleet

Who qualifies
We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. Your original licence, not a photo, comes with you to the handover.
Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
How it works
Every booking starts as a request: the car, the dates and where you want it. Nothing is charged to send one. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. If the offer works for you, approve and pay to confirm. If not, you owe nothing.
You can check any car's calendar before you send a request. For longer stays, each booking of up to 365 days renews with a new agreement. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.
