Luup alternative: Merkur

Luup alternative and the Merkur

For a rental car, here is what the Merkur brings, and how to request one. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.

What the figures tell you

No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.

Best uses

It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Rent this car

Name the Merkur model you want in your request, and the offer confirms what we can give you. We have no Merkur on the site right now. Send a request with the model you want, and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. We hand every car over in person, at your address or at our location.

What to bring

We rent to drivers aged 18 and up who hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. A deposit applies to every rental. It is shown on the car's page and taken about 1 hour before pickup. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.

The steps

A short online request with the car and your times gets things moving, at no cost. Our team answers with an offer: the confirmed car, the dates and the full price. If you approve, you pay and the car is yours for those dates.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.

Still deciding?

Look through the cars, choose one, and send a request when it suits you.
