Luup alternative and the 2005 MINI Cooper

Luup alternative and the 2005 MINI Cooper: the figures first, then how to rent it from CarmaCars. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.

Specs, explained

Under the hood: the 1.6L 4-cylinder and front-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

It is rated 8.6 L/100 km combined: about 26 litres every 300 km. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $150.50.

Who it is for

It suits a summer weekend or a special occasion more than a move. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

The Cooper in everyday use

As a sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second. With 198 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.

Getting one from us

Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Delivery covers the Toronto area, priced by distance in your offer; pickup from us is free.

Rules for renters

Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. Your original licence, not a photo, comes with you to the handover.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. A quick licence and identity check happens before we confirm any booking.

What happens when you ask for a car

Every rental begins with a request from you. It costs nothing and it does not hold the car. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. The booking is confirmed when you approve the offer and pay it.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.
