Renting the 2014 MINI Cooper
If you need a rental car, the 2014 MINI Cooper is one option; this page explains the car and how booking works. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
The numbers in plain words
The 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo does the work, through a 6-speed manual. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.
Plan on about 22 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 7.2 L/100 km. For 1,000 km, budget about $126 at our price setting.
Who rents the Cooper
It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.
Space and size
As a two-seat sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second. The EPA measures its luggage space at 255 litres, roughly about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.
Can you rent one?
Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. We meet you with the car at the time we confirm, at your address or ours.
How a booking comes together
Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.
Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.
What to have ready
Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.
