Searching for Luup alternative? Here is the 2018 Nissan Leaf: what it is like and how to rent it. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.

Specs, explained

Its powertrain is the electric motor with front-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Rated energy use is 18.6 kWh per 100 km. Rated range: 243 km. Winter and highway speeds bring it down. In energy, every 100 km costs about $2.79 at our price setting.

Practical details

As a mid-size car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. The trunk holds 680 litres by the EPA's count: bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Good uses for the Leaf

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits people who want to try an electric car before buying one.

Renting it

Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Delivery to your door is available across the Toronto area.

Requirements

From age 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can send a request. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. The card you pay with must be yours, and you bring it to the handover.

Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.

Request, offer, keys

Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. You pay only once you approve the offer.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. A rental of 7 days or longer is priced at the weekly rate. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.
