Luup alternative: the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire
Renting the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire as a rental car works like any rental with us: a free request, an offer, then the keys. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Under the hood
Its powertrain is the 2.2L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.
Combined fuel use is 9.6 L/100 km: about 29 litres for 300 km. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $148.80.
When the Sunfire makes sense
It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.
Inside and out
A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. The EPA lists 368 litres for luggage, roughly about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.
Renting it
Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Your offer shows any delivery fee before you pay.
What you need to rent
You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. Bring the card you paid with and your original licence to the handover.
You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.
From request to keys
Choose the car and your times, then send a request. A request does not hold the car, and it costs nothing. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.
Each car's calendar shows the days it is already booked. From 7 days, the weekly rate takes over. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.
Send a request
A request takes a few minutes and puts a real offer in front of you.
