For a rental car, the 2004 Rolls-Royce Phantom could fit; below, the figures and how booking works. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.

The figures, translated

Its 6.7L 12-cylinder drives through a 6-speed automatic. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

Expect about 54 litres for every 300 km, going by its 18.1 L/100 km combined rating. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $316.80.

Living with the Phantom

A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. Its 396 litres of luggage space fit about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

When the Phantom makes sense

It uses more fuel than most, so it suits shorter trips or people who need its size. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

The rules, briefly

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

Every rate includes third-party liability. The car itself needs one of three options: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.

The steps

Choose a car, set the pickup and return times, and send the request. You pay nothing to ask. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

Rates are set car by car and shown on each car's page. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

Request a car, read the offer, and decide. That is the whole process.
