The Subaru Standard: Luup alternative
The Subaru Standard is on this page for Luup alternative: here is what to know before you request one. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.
The numbers in plain words
No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.
What to expect from the Standard
A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway.
Good uses for the Standard
It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.
Renting the Standard from CarmaCars
Your request can name this exact car; the offer confirms what we can give you. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.
Booking in plain terms
Choose a car, set the pickup and return times, and send the request. You pay nothing to ask. We answer with a written offer: the car, the dates, the price and the deposit. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.
You can see every car's calendar and rates before you send anything. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.
Checking your details
You must be 18 or older and hold a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. Each day of the rental carries a young driver fee if a driver is under 26. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.
The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
One more step
When the dates are set, a request gets you a real price.

Can I rent a Subaru Standard in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
