Luup alternative with this car
If a rental car is the plan, the 2012 Tesla Model S is worth a look; here is why. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
The figures, translated
Its powertrain is the electric motor with rear-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
Rated energy use is 23.6 kWh per 100 km. Rated range: 426 km. Winter and highway speeds bring it down. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $3.54, and a 300 km weekend about $10.62.
What to expect from the Model S
Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. The EPA measures its luggage space at 736 litres, roughly bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.
Who the Model S suits
It suits client visits, weddings and special weekends. It suits city driving and anyone with charging at home or work.

Who qualifies
The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. Age fees stop at 26: younger drivers pay a daily young driver fee. We need to see the card and the licence of the person renting.
You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is never taken when you book; it comes about 1 hour before pickup. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
From your dates to the handover
Nothing to pay up front: the first step is simply a request. We check the calendar and your details, then send you an offer with the total. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.
The photos on a car's page are of that car. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.
Still deciding?
Ask for the car, read the offer, approve it if it suits you.
