Luup alternative with this car
For a rental car, the 2018 Tesla Model S is one of many cars on CarmaCars, each with its own page. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Engine and fuel
Power: the electric motor; drive: all-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.
Rated energy use is 20.8 kWh per 100 km. On paper it goes 539 km between charges, less in winter. Every 100 km costs about $3.12 in electricity at our price setting.
Is it right for your trip?
It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country.
Space and size
Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. The EPA lists 736 litres for luggage, roughly bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Getting the car booked
Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.
Each listing shows the daily, weekly and monthly rate of that car. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.
What you need to rent
An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. Bring the card in your name that paid for the booking.
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.
