The numbers in plain words

The electric motor, paired with a 1-speed automatic, drives it. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

At 17.4 kWh/100 km, a 300 km day uses roughly 52 kWh. A full charge is rated for 507 km; plan for less in the cold. That works out to about $2.61 per 100 km at our price setting.

What to expect from the Model Y

The higher seat of a compact SUV gives a good view of the road in traffic.

Who it is for

It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

Can I rent it?

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

What to have ready

Every driver must be 18 or older with an Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Your licence and the card you paid with come with you to the pickup.

Damage to the car is handled one of three ways: OPCF 27 on your policy, a credit card's rental car benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.

Requesting a car

All you send at first is a request with the car and the dates, and it is free. We check the calendar and your details, then send you an offer with the total. If you approve, you pay and the car is yours for those dates.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

When you know your dates

A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.
