Specs, explained

The 1.8L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

It is rated at 7.5 L/100 km combined; 300 km takes about 23 litres. At our price setting, it costs about $11.63 to drive 100 km.

Who it is for

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.

What to expect from the Corolla

A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. For luggage, 368 litres means about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Renting: the basics

Drivers need to be 18 or over, holding an Ontario G2 or G licence for the whole rental. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.

Third-party liability is part of every rate, and damage to the car is handled by OPCF 27, a card benefit or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. We verify licences and identity for every renter, with no exceptions.

Booking, step by step

Your part at the start is short: choose a car and dates and send a free request. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.
