Luup alternative: the Toyota Highlander

If you need a rental car, read about the Toyota Highlander here, then request it. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.

The figures, translated

No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.

Good uses for the Highlander

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Practical details

Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.

Our Highlander cars

Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Your offer shows any delivery fee before you pay.

Your request, our offer, your keys

It begins with your request, sent online in a few minutes, with no payment. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. Pay when you approve, not a minute before.

Each car's calendar shows the days it is already booked. From one day to 365, a single booking covers it. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.

Driver requirements

Every driver needs an Ontario G2 or G licence and must be 18 or older. Young drivers are welcome: a daily fee applies under 26. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.

Can I rent a Toyota Highlander in Toronto?

Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.

How old do I need to be to rent?

18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.

How much is the deposit?

Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.

What coverage do I need?

Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.

Can the car be delivered?

Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
