Mechanic: how we help
For mechanical repairs or maintenance on the PAS, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and never does the work itself. Routine maintenance and repairs are done by a mechanic at a shop we trust, not by CarmaCars.
Details the shop needs
Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them.
Our part and the shop's part
We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. You agree everything with the shop before work begins.
Your rental while you wait
The rental is priced like any other on our site. We collect the rental when your car is back. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.
Talking to the shop
If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected. Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare.
Between shop visits
Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires.
Ready to ask?
Send a request with the car and what it needs, and a person replies within one business day.
Request mechanic
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
