The Red Shift: Mechanic
CarmaCars does not do mechanical work. For mechanical repairs or maintenance on the Red Shift, we connect you with a trusted shop. Tell us what the car is doing, and we find a shop suited to the job.
Details the shop needs
The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car.
What to send us
We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. Send the car's details and what it needs; we take it from there. Tell us when suits you, and whether the car can be driven.
A car while yours is in the shop
Pick a car that suits your week from our fleet. The rental is priced like any other on our site. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.
Between shop visits
Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history.
Let us know
Send the car's details and the job, and we take the next step.
