The RUF: Mechanic
For mechanical repairs or maintenance on the RUF, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and never does the work itself. Regular maintenance keeps small problems from turning into large ones.
Details the shop needs
Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop.
The steps
The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work. Send a request with the car and what it needs; a person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date.
A car while yours is in the shop
Add a rental to the same request as the repair. Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. We bring the car to your address in the Toronto area, or you collect it for free.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.
Between shop visits
Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold.
Your move
Ask in your request, and we tell you plainly what we can arrange.
Request mechanic
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
