Getting a clear quote
Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours.
Between shop visits
Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months.
