The Tecstar, LP: Mechanic
CarmaCars does not do mechanical work, but for mechanical repairs or maintenance on the Tecstar, LP we arrange a trusted shop. Tell us what the car is doing, and we find a shop suited to the job.
Your car, your notes
A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts.
Our part and the shop's part
The shop sets the price and the time after seeing the car. Send a request with the car and what it needs; a person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work.
A rental while you wait
A rental keeps your week on track during the repair. Rent by the day or the week, and stop when your car is back. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
Before the shop starts
Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up.
Small things that help
Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter.
