The Yugo: Mechanic
Need mechanical repairs or maintenance for the Yugo? We arrange it with a trusted shop; the work is never done by CarmaCars. Tell us what the car is doing, and we find a shop suited to the job.
Your car, your notes
Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare.
Who does what
We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. The shop sets the price and the time after seeing the car. Send the car's details and what it needs; we take it from there.
Stay on the road
Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. We meet you with the car at the time we confirm, at your address or ours.
What to ask
Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.
Between shop visits
Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due.
