A note on Ruby

CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 1,626 km from Ruby, and does not deliver there. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Ruby.

Next door to Ruby are Hopewell, Beech Grove and Gatesville.

Engine and fuel

Its powertrain is the 2.3L 4-cylinder turbo with four-wheel drive. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. Four-wheel drive helps on rough ground and deep snow; on dry roads it behaves like any other vehicle.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 34 litres, from its 11.4 L/100 km rating. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $17.67.

Good uses for the Explorer

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

Space, size and seats

The higher seat of a full-size SUV gives a good view of the road in traffic.

Renting the Explorer from CarmaCars

Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates.

Booking made plain

Choose the car and your times, then send a request. A request does not hold the car, and it costs nothing. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. A booking can be a single day or up to 365 days. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.

What we ask of drivers

At pickup you must be 18 or older and carry your original G2 or G licence. Drivers below 26 pay a fee each day of the rental, and older drivers pay none. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Expect a deposit before every rental; its amount is set by the car. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.

Still deciding?

Pick a car, send a request, and decide once you see the offer.
