Questions to ask the shop
Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.
Between shop visits
Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due.
