Reading the spec sheet

It runs the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive. It is a plug-in hybrid: it runs on electricity for a short distance, then on gas like a regular hybrid. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

It is rated 8.8 L/100 km combined: about 26 litres every 300 km. On electricity alone it is rated for about 644 km before the gas engine takes over. In money, 1,000 km costs about $136.40 at our price setting.

Who the Q5 suits

It suits short daily drives on electricity with gas for longer trips. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

Inside and out

As a compact SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier. With a length of 4.68 m, it counts as mid-size. It fits most condo and driveway spots.

Renting it

Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

From your dates to the handover

The first step is a free request: which car, which dates, and how you want to get it. An offer follows, with the car we confirm and the full price for your dates. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.

Rates are set car by car and shown on each car's page. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. Requests need at least 2 hours of notice before the pickup time.

What we check

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. Your licence and the card you paid with come with you to the pickup.

Choose before pickup how damage to the car is handled: your policy with OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
