Renting the RUF
Searching for rent a car and the RUF? Here is what the car is like and how to rent one from us. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Specs, explained
The EPA does not rate this model year for fuel use; heavier trucks and vans are often not rated.
A good match for
It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.
Getting one from us
A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We have no RUF on the site right now. Send a request with the model you want, and we look for one for your dates. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.
Driver basics
The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. We accept young drivers; those under 26 pay a daily fee. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.
The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.
How it works
Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. You receive an offer with the price, the deposit and what is included. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.
Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. From one day to 365, a single booking covers it. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.
Still deciding?
When you have your dates, send a request. It is free, and the offer shows the full price.

Rent a car: the RUF
Can I rent a RUF in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
