The Karma: Safety certificate
For a safety certificate on the Karma, a trusted shop does the work and CarmaCars arranges it, with a rental if you need one. A used car you buy in Ontario needs a Safety Standards Certificate before it can be plated.
Your car, your notes
Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them.
How we help
Send a request with the car and what it needs; a person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. We keep you posted until the car is booked in. We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop.
A car while yours is in the shop
We collect the rental when your car is back. We bring the rental to you and collect it afterwards. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.
Good habits for your car
Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell.
What to ask
Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you.
Get an offer
A request is free and gets a reply within one business day.
Request safety certificate
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
