Safety certificate for the Scion: CarmaCars does not do this work itself. Request it and we arrange it with a trusted shop or connect you with one, and we can deliver a rental car to you while yours is in.
A rental while yours is in the shop
CarmaCars does not do this work; you keep driving while the shop has your car. We deliver a rental to you, by the day, at our usual rates.

The Scion: Safety certificate
Safety certificate for the Scion: the work is done by a shop we trust, never by CarmaCars. A used car you buy in Ontario needs a Safety Standards Certificate before it can be plated.
Your car, your notes
Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car.
The steps
The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work. We keep you posted until the car is booked in. We tell you plainly if we do not know a shop for the job.
Your rental while you wait
We collect the rental when your car is back. Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.
Good habits for your car
Check that all lights work every few weeks. Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can. Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter.
Talk to a person
One request: the job, the car, and whether you need a rental meanwhile.
Request safety certificate
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
Rent a car while yours is in in Toronto
We have no car while yours is in on the site right now. Request one and we look for it for your dates, or take a similar car that is available now.
