CarmaCars does not do mechanical work, but for suspension work on the smart we arrange a trusted shop. Knocks over bumps, a bouncy ride or uneven tire wear point to shocks, struts or steering parts.
Your car, your notes
Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare.
From request to repair
You agree the price with the shop before any work starts. We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop. Your request goes to a person, who arranges a trusted shop or gives you its name.
Your rental while you wait
The rental is priced like any other on our site. Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.
Between shop visits
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires.
What to ask
Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate.
