Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. Tell the shop the tire size printed on the sidewall; it differs by trim.

Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring.

Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used.
