CarmaCars does not do mechanical work, but for tire work on the MINI Cooper we arrange a trusted shop. Tread depth matters for grip in rain and snow; the shop measures it.
Your car, your notes
The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request.

We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. We keep you posted until the car is booked in.

Good habits for your car
Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them.
Before the shop starts
Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected.
