Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Check that all lights work every few weeks.
What to ask
Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours.
