Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt.

If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up.
