Good habits for your car
Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Check that all lights work every few weeks.
Talking to the shop
If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.
