Before the shop starts
Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back.
Car care, briefly
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance.
