Turo alternative: AM General

The AM General: Turo alternative

Searching for Turo alternative? Here is the AM General: what it is like and how to rent it. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.

What the specs mean

No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.

Who it is for

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.

Can you rent one?

Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. We have no AM General on the site right now. Send a request with the model you want, and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.

Before pickup

Ontario G2 or G licences are accepted, for drivers 18 and older. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.

From request to keys

Tell us the car and the dates in a request. There is no fee for asking. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. If it suits you, approve it and pay. Until then, nothing is charged.

Compare cars side by side by opening their pages. Longer trips cost less a day: the weekly rate starts at 7 days. Last-minute plans are fine with at least 2 hours of notice.

One more step

Ready? Request the car. If you change your mind before approving the offer, nothing is charged.
