A note on Champlain

We have no location in Champlain; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 972 km away. If you need it in Champlain itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Places around Champlain include The Ledge, Oak Haven and Gilmans Corner.

Under the hood

It is powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Plan on about 25 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 8.3 L/100 km. In money, 1,000 km costs about $128.70 at our price setting.

How big it is

Being a compact car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. Its 340 litre trunk is enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

A good match for

Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

How renting with us works

Nothing to pay up front: the first step is simply a request. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.

Driver requirements

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. Bring the card in your name that paid for the booking.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
