The 2002 Ford Explorer: Turo alternative
Want the 2002 Ford Explorer as a rental car? Start here: the car in plain words, then how booking works. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.
Engine and fuel
The powertrain to know here is the 4.0L 6-cylinder, with rear-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 41 litres, from its 13.8 L/100 km rating. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $21.39.
Room inside
Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.
Who the Explorer suits
It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.
Rent this car
Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.
What to expect when you book
Choose the car and your times, then send a request. A request does not hold the car, and it costs nothing. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.
The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.
What to bring
You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. We accept young drivers; those under 26 pay a daily fee. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.
The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.
