Turo alternative and the 2016 Mazda 2: the figures first, then how to rent it from CarmaCars. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Reading the spec sheet
It uses the 1.5L 4-cylinder and front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.
By the EPA's combined rating of 6.5 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 20 litres. The fuel for 100 km comes to about $10.08 at our price setting.
Space, size and seats
As a compact car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. The EPA measures its luggage space at 453 litres, roughly a family's bags for a long weekend.
Who it is for
Its low fuel use suits long commutes and high-kilometre weeks. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.
Getting this car from us
This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We deliver around Toronto; pickup at our location is free.
The booking steps
Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. The booking is confirmed when you approve the offer and pay it.
Each listing shows the daily, weekly and monthly rate of that car. Book by the week from 7 days, or by the month up to 365 days. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.
Who qualifies
We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.
Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. The checks are the same for everyone: licence, identity and the agreement.
