Renting: the basics

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. Young drivers are welcome: a daily fee applies under 26. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.

For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.
