Van rental: silver 2020 Ford Escape Titanium in Java

Van rental: the 2020 Ford Escape Titanium

If a van or a seven-seat car is the plan, the 2020 Ford Escape Titanium is worth a look; here is why. Seven seats or more take a whole group in one vehicle.

Renting for Java

Java is about 1,639 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

Around Java you will also find Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

Reading the spec sheet

The 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo with front-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 23 litres, from its 7.8 L/100 km rating. Driving 300 km costs roughly $36.27 at our price setting.

What the Escape is like

As a compact SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.

Best uses

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits winter trips and weekends with more gear than people.

Rent this car

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner.

From your dates to the handover

First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. You pay only once you approve the offer.

Each listing shows the daily, weekly and monthly rate of that car. For longer stays, each booking of up to 365 days renews with a new agreement. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

Checking your details

From age 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can send a request. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. Each car shows its deposit, and we take it about 1 hour before pickup. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.

Ready when you are

Look through the cars, choose one, and send a request when it suits you.
