Van rental: silver 2021 Honda Civic Type R in Java

Van rental and the 2021 Honda Civic Type R

If you need a van or a seven-seat car, the 2021 Honda Civic Type R is one option; this page explains the car and how booking works. Seven seats or more take a whole group in one vehicle.

A note on Java

We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Java starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here. Java is about 1,639 km from our Toronto location, beyond the area we deliver to.

Close by are Selby, Lowry and Sitka, each with its own page.

Under the hood

It uses the 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo and front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

Its combined rating is 6.9 L/100 km, which means roughly 21 litres for 300 km. For 1,000 km, budget about $107 at our price setting.

Inside and out

As a large sedan, it is easy to drive and park in the city. Luggage space is 736 litres, enough for bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Who the Civic suits

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

Can I rent it?

Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates.

Booking made plain

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. If it suits you, approve it and pay. Until then, nothing is charged.

Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.

Before pickup

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. The card must be in the driver's name, and we check it with the licence in person.

Third-party liability is in the rate; for the car, bring OPCF 27, use your card's benefit, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. We verify licences and identity for every renter, with no exceptions.
