Van rental with this car

Searching for van rental? Here is the 2012 Mazda 3: what it is like and how to rent it. Seven seats or more take a whole group in one vehicle.

What the figures tell you

Under the hood: the 2.0L 4-cylinder and front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

It is rated 7.4 L/100 km combined: about 22 litres every 300 km. A 300 km weekend costs about $34.41 in energy at our price setting.

Who it is for

It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

What to expect from the 3

Being a compact car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. The EPA lists 481 litres for luggage, roughly a family's bags for a long weekend.

Our 3 cars

There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Delivery starts at $75 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.

Checking your details

Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. Each day of the rental carries a young driver fee if a driver is under 26. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.

The steps

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

Each listing shows the daily, weekly and monthly rate of that car. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.

Still deciding?

Ask for the car, read the offer, approve it if it suits you.
