Arranging the work for the WIS
For a wheel alignment on the 1986 GMC WIS, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. An alignment keeps the car driving straight and the tires wearing evenly.
About your WIS
Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the WIS. Mention the trim and engine in your request; parts differ between them.
What to send us
You agree everything with the shop before work begins. The shop sets the price and the time after seeing the car. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
We deliver the rental to you and collect it when your car is ready. Rent by the day or the week, and stop when your car is back. We hand every car over in person, at your address or at our location.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours.
Small things that help
Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair. Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can.
One more step
Describe the problem, and we arrange a trusted shop.
Request wheel alignment
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
