Details the shop needs
Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts.
What CarmaCars does here
The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date. You agree the price with the shop before any work starts.
A car while yours is in the shop
The rental is priced like any other on our site. Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.
What to ask
Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there.
Between shop visits
Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them.
