Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.

Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies.
