The Ford: Winter tires

For a winter tire change on the Ford, a trusted shop does the work and CarmaCars arranges it, with a rental if you need one. Swapping to winter tires in fall and back in spring is the usual routine.

Your car, your notes

Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them.

Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.

Talking to the shop

Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for.
