Arranging the work in Coldbrook

CarmaCars arranges mechanical work through shops around Toronto and does not do the work itself; Coldbrook is about 975 km away. A diagnostic scan when a warning light is on or something feels wrong, by a trusted shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.

What to send us

We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. You deal with the shop for the repair itself, and with us for the rental. Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare. If you already have a shop you trust, we can still rent you a car meanwhile.

Questions to ask the shop

If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours. Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies.

Good habits for your car

Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them.
