Emissions Test in Kiesling

The job: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.

From request to repair

Your request reaches a person, not a machine. A person reads every request and replies with the next step. A person replies within one business day. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done.

Talking to the shop

Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.

Between shop visits

Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair.
